You can use the knob to select different functions such as Toast, Bagel, Broil, Roast, Bake, Cookies, Pizza, and Reheat. It uses its Element IQ smart sensor technology to adjust the power and to calculate cooking time. There is also another knob for setting temperature, time, number of slices, and toast shade.
